Our seals and gaskets range of closed and semi-closed cell materials can be used to improve the fit between panels and reduce vibration within the unit, also used to seal doors and access panel against the elements.
A gasket is a round, flat piece of hardware with a hole in the centre that is often placed between a screw or nut and a surface to increase tension.
Rubber washers are used in applications that require a tight seal and those that are exposed to water, humidity or other liquids as they don’t rust.
Acoustafoam manufacture washers, grommets and seals in any size and shape to customer requirements. A grommet is a ring inserted into a hole through thin material such as fabric. Grommets are flared or collared on each side to keep them in place and are often made of metal, plastic or rubber. They may be used to prevent tearing or abrasion of the pierced material to cover sharp edges of the piercing or both.
Grommets made of rubber or other elastic materials are also used to minimise the transmission of vibration. A seal is a device or substance that is used to join two things together so as to prevent them coming apart or to prevent anything passing between them.
A gasket is a mechanical seal which fills the space between two or more mating surfaces, generally to prevent leakage from or into the joined objects while under compression.
With the aid of our computer systems and cutting processes we can cater for low and high volumes with no tooling investment from the customer.
Materials include- many metals, plastics, rubber, synthetic rubbers, foams, corks, much more.
All of our seals, gaskets and extruded profiles are cut and manufactured using computerised presses, CNC cutting machines and state of the art water jet cutting technology.
As our production of all our washers, seals, grommets and gaskets are in-house we are able to help with production. For example, from the choice of material, to the production of a prototype shipped within 24 hours.
We manufacture door seals for compressor units out of a large choice of materials including corks, Neoprene, EPDM, NBR rubbers, PVC, Polyethylene and Polyurethane foams at a size and shape to best fit your products. We can supply them with a self-adhesive back to ease installation. We can create the seal you want by cutting them on our water jets or by using or in-house CNC equipment.
Our fabrication department has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the manufacture of custom made components in either large volume or one off prototype. If you already have the DXF file, we can have the sample turned out and shipped within 24 hours.
