Acoustafoam was established in 1979, and we operate from our head office based in Telford, Shropshire, located in the West Midlands, ideally for all the primary road systems accessible via the M54. The company originated to provide cladding for tractors and off-road vehicles, but we have successfully followed a monitored growth, through investment, in new machinery and processes to serve a multitude of industries.

Over the last 40 years, Acoustafoam has developed its processes and techniques, allowing it the opportunity to offer a broad range of quality products to our customers. This has opened the opportunity to broaden the customer base to filtration, marine products, electronic and many more industries where the control of noise levels is essential.

Acoustafoam products can be supplied in sheet form or manufactured to each customer’s individual needs; this includes the moulding of unique products, custom cut kits. Due to the extensive knowledge developed over many years and the diversity of product range we can offer quality parts at a very competitive price, backed up with a reliable service supported by our dedicated in-house technical team. Acoustafoam is BSI ISO 9001:2015 approved and is proud of its record of working with customers and suppliers to ensure the end product is of a high standard.

We pride ourself in offering a first class service supported by a technical team which is ready to react to individual customer requirements. Despite being hit with a significant fire which wiped out the factory in 2007, Acoustafoam managed to hold on to our entire staff and rebuild the facility to our state-of-the-art specifications with the very latest computer controlled cutting equipment.

Still, to this day, Mike is hands-on in every day and fully committed to upholding the prime KPI’s of the business. Mike has passed on his passion and enthusiasm to both is children Carl and Paul Tranter.

Carl has been with the company for 22 years and worked his way up the business to become the Managing Director. Paul has been with the company for 29 years and worked his way up to become the Operations Director. Both started on the factory floor to build their understanding and reinforce their knowledge of each product and the industry. The process of starting on the shop floor applies to all employees old and new. This is, so the individuals know each material they are manufacturing, selling or developing.

Each staff member is trained to their specific role plus to understand customer needs. With the aim, to deliver a first class product and service to all our customers.

Acoustafoam Limited is a family run, privately owned company which runs exceptionally well due to its family approach. With a wealth of experience at the shop floor level as well as all management levels. We are very proud of the fact that 50% of the workforce has a minimum of 15/20 years’ service.

The company also recognises the need for succession and continuity and therefore, we provide young employees with the opportunity to develop and progress within the company.

Our Vision for the Future

Our vision for the future is to maintain and develop our management system. As a part of this, we have developed visual aids, which is  WIFI linked to a control station at each production line. To ensure the highest level of quality and production is carried out in each process. The Control Station provides us instant batch and order forecasting for delivery. We have a first-class record of customer service, and these new additions will help us maintain and build our reputation.
